Betrayal guild race
Our guild held a race: we were split into two teams and raced against each other to see who
could clear normal Ny’alotha the fastest.
I was in Team Meat that was led by our guild leader Meateor. Our opponent, Team Vegan, was led by one of our guild’s officers Talanah. Both teams consisted of 11 players, and changing specializations was allowed, but we mostly kept our original specs.
Team Vegan took the lead at the start, as they got over a minute ahead of us. We started catching up at the fourth boss, Xanesh, then fell more behind again when we got to Vexiona. After Vexiona went down, Team Vegan headed towards The Hivemind while we jumped down to kill Shad’har.
We almost caught up with Team Vegan when we cleared Il’gynoth’s hole while they killed The Hivemind and Ra-den. Team Vegan then proceeded to kill Drest’agath straight away, killing Shad’har after, while our Team Meat killed The Hivemind.
When Team Vegan got to Il’gynoth, we had nearly cleared the trash in front of Ra-den, but then came the mistake that sealed the defeat of Team Meat: a wipe on Ra-den while Team Vegan killed Il’gynoth and got to Carapace of N’zoth far ahead of us. When we finally got to Carapace of N’zoth, Team Vegan had already pulled N’zoth itself.
As we got to the last phase of Carapace of N’zoth, the cries of victory from Team Vegan had started to appear in the guild chat. We knew that we had lost, but the race was a lot of fun, and hopefully, we’re going to do something like this again at Castle Nathria in Shadowlands.
While we made some mistakes that cost us several minutes even before the wipe on Ra-den, if we just hadn’t wiped on Ra-den, we would have still had a chance to win the race.

Be that as it may, the race was a fun experience, and the reward for the winners was over 760,000 gold shared between the players of the winning team. Maybe we should try how quickly we can clear normal Ny’alotha together, as a full guild, not as two separate teams.
