Raider (Mythic & Heroic)

The Raider role will be split out into two unique roles - Mythic Raider & Heroic Raider.

Heroic Raider - This is a role we’ll assign to people who want to raid but may not feel confident in Mythic. It’s a good place to learn the core mechanics of the boss fights without the added pressure/difficulty that comes with Mythic raiding. It may also be used for people who want to switch mains halfway through a raid tier, to give them a chance to get back up to the standards of their original character, before moving back to Mythic Raider.

Heroic Raiders can come to Mythic raids if there is an open spot, but Mythic Raiders will get priority invites. Heroic Raiders who want to move into the Mythic Raider spot can speak to an officer to register interest.

Mythic Raider - This is the rank assigned to our core raid team. It’s for our progression raiders who intend to be present for the majority of our scheduled raids. We don’t have a set requirement for attendance but we may move players to the Social rank for missing raids consecutively without letting an officer know you plan to be absent for a while.

The responsibilities of the two Raider ranks will be similar (with a few exceptions listed below):

Sign up to the calendar events
Accepted = Available to raid and will be online for the raid start time
Tentative = Available to raid but will be late
Declined = Unavailable to raid
Come prepared with consumables
Flasks
Pre-pots
Healing potions
Food
Read up on boss mechanics
Meet gear requirements for the raid tier
This will be set by the Raid Leader for each individual raid tier and will be listed in the calendar invites
*MYTHIC ONLY* Read up on best talent/essence choice for the individual fights
Mythic is another level of raiding - to ensure we are continuing to progress we need our team to be flexible with their character choices to give us the best chance of success in the individual encounters
*MYTHIC ONLY* Contribute mats to the guild bank to help make the feasts & cauldrons
It’s time-consuming for the leadership team to farm the materials needed to provide feasts and cauldrons. Please help out where you can as every little helps!

Trial

This is the rank we assign to players who wish to join our core raiding team. It’s a place where we can get a feel for you, and you can get a feel for us. To pass a trial and be promoted to Raider we have a few requirements:

Good attendance over the next 4 - 6 weeks of raiding
If you cannot make a raid please let an officer know in advance and sign the calendar accordingly
Traditionally, we’ve asked for 4 consecutive raids in a row before being eligible to pass the trial - We understand that real life happens so stay in touch as we assess everyone on a case by case basis and can make exceptions.
Good level of wow competency
This comes down to a mix of (included but not limited to):
Gear/stat/talent choices
Game sense
Ability to follow instructions
Attitude
DPS (not our biggest concern but if you’re doing less damage than the tanks/healers then you may not be ready for raiding)
This is to protect our raid team from carrying players who are not ready for raiding
We’re happy to give advice and help players to improve where we can
People who fail their trial are welcome to apply to try again - You’ll be expected to show an improvement on any of the factors listed for a previous trial failure before being eligible to pass the trial

Responsibilities of a Trial member are similar to a Heroic/Mythic Raider and are listed below:

Sign up to the calendar events
Accepted = Available to raid and will be online for the raid start time
Tentative = Available to raid but will be late
Declined = Unavailable to raid
Come prepared with consumables
Flasks
Pre-pots
Healing potions
Food
Read up on boss mechanics
Meet gear requirements for the raid tier
This will be set by the Raid Leader for each individual raid tier and will be listed in the calendar invites

Social

This rank is assigned to players who wish to be part of our community but do not want/are not able to commit to our raid schedules. We welcome all players socially so feel free to bring your friends, partners etc to the party!

Responsibilities include:

No specific responsibilities but we do ask that everyone respects one another and focusses on having a good time whilst online.

Alt

This rank is assigned to players’ alternate characters. There is no limit to the number of alts you can have in the guild, we just ask that you keep your guild note updated with your main character’s name (or RL name if you prefer) so we know who you are.

Uninitiated

This is the entry-level rank assigned to new players. An Officer will speak to all new recruits to understand a little more about their guild intentions, before assigning an appropriate rank from the list above.
